Meet the Principal

Dr. Justin Malone is a respected educator who has served Charlottesville City Schools since 2013. He came to Charlottesville High School as principal in 2024 after serving for seven years as the principal of Jackson-Via Elementary. Prior to that, he was an assistant principal at CHS from 2013-2017. Dr. Malone began his career in education in Greene County Public Schools, where he served as a special education teacher, a special education coordinator, and an elementary and middle school assistant principal. He received his B.S. and M.S. at Old Dominion University before earning his Ed.D. at the University of Virginia. He has also served as a doctoral advisor and adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University.
