Dear Black Knight Families -
Our school year begins this Wednesday, August 14th.
My expectation for this year is that our community aligns our strengths, our aspirations, and our belief in the Black Knight Nation to make this school year a triumphant success.
As CHS celebrates it's 50th birthday, I have been reflecting on the legacy and traditions that embody our school. While CHS exalts many traits - resilience, community, pride, and opportunity are among those that stand out. And though I am only a little over a month into my tenure as CHS principal, the Black Knight Nation has been a significant part of my life since I first became a Black Knight over 10 years ago. From that point on, through interactions and experiences with current Black Knights, legacy Black Knights, CHS staff, and committed local partners, I know that CHS is a an enduring exemplar of hope and excellence. So, as CHS is about to turn 50, I remind each of you of our responsibility in upholding this legacy and ask for your commitment to work together to make this year among the best in history.
One message I have been reiterating with staff is first things first.
Our work and collaboration starts with each of us showing up in support of school and student success.
Families must engage with school experiences. The school must foster a safe and accepting environment.
Students must show up - on time, every period, every day.
We all must give our best.
And even though Wednesday is the first day of school, our work on behalf of CHS starts now.
Let's all show up.
I believe in you. I believe in us.
CHS...I love it. I love it. I love it!
