Graduation Information and Senior Dates

Graduation

We are excited to announce that the Graduation ceremony for our seniors will take place on June 6 at 7:00 pm at the Ting Pavilion (gates open at 6:15 pm). Seniors will meet at Herman Key Rec. Center at 6:00p.

Tickets

Each senior will receive six tickets to distribute among their supporters. If additional seats are needed, students can request additional tickets in the pavilion (as available) or on the lawn. An announcement will be made via ParentSquare when additional tickets are available.

What to Bring (or Not to Bring)

Please note that balloons and noisemakers are not allowed, and those sitting in the lawn area are welcome to bring chairs. However, umbrellas are not allowed. The security staff will search bags.

  Free photo downloads will be available on the CHS webpage courtesy of photography teacher Rachel Z. Wilson. While there is no guarantee that each student’s photo will be taken, these have been treasured keepsakes in the past!
  Parking Information
  Due to our urban location, we do not provide parking on-site. 

  • However, there are several options within a few blocks of the venue that we can recommend:
    
    Market Street Garage - 550 E Market Street Water Street Garage - 200 East Water Street 

  • Surface lots serviced by ParkMobile

  • 3 lots at Water Street and 1st Street 

  • 1 lot at Market Street between 1st and 2nd Streets 

  • Get to Downtown Charlottesville from the University of Virginia Corner and UVA Grounds with the FREE trolley.

  • The FREE trolley services CAT and University Transit Service stops along its route every 15 minutes on Monday through Saturday.

  • On Sunday, FREE trolley service is every 30 minutes in the morning and every 45 minutes in the afternoon. The last trolley leaves the Downtown Transit Station at 11:30 PM on Monday through Saturday and at 5:00 PM on Sunday.

  • Need a cap and gown?
    If you plan on purchasing your own cap and gown, tassels will be available for sale for ($10 - tassels, $15 - caps) on (insert day). If you need assistance, please contact Betsy Scott or your School counselor.  We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you and your graduate!
    
    

  • Want to donate a cap and gown?
    CHS collects clean caps and gowns after graduation for sustainability reasons and to help next year’s students. Stay tuned.
