Cheer on Your Peers!
Our student section sets the standard! Students cheer on their peers with positivity, creativity, and sportsmanship.
Games are free for all CHS students, however, football and basketball games will have student tickets signed up for at lunches to ensure that we have an accurate number when accounting for crowd size. All other games students can show up at the gate and let the ticket workers know that they are a CHS student for free entry.
All events are clear bags only and the game workers will not be accountable for watching over backpacks and bags at the gate.
Academic Supports
Academic Advising
School counselors meet with each returning CHS student in early spring to discuss course options for the coming year. There is also an annual Curriculum Fair each January to showcase our full range of course offerings, including partnerships with PVCC and CATEC programs
Students register for courses during small group and individual program planning sessions with their counselors to review selections and discuss future plans. All students must schedule seven courses, one for each period in the day, and two alternates. Some students may wish to select eight courses, one for each period in the day plus an early morning period.
Tutoring
CHS offers after-school tutoring, where staff are available to help with …
- Core academic subjects
- Assessment make-ups
- Help with missing and makeup work
- Preparation for upcoming assessments
- Study skills, organization, and time management support
- Postsecondary planning support
Driver Education
Driver’s Education has two components:
- A classroom component taught in Heath 10 (see Health and Physical Education)
- A behind-the-wheel component (offered over the summer at CHS).
