Description: In this course, students work on a variety of two- and three-dimensional projects, and further develop their knowledge of art history and the conceptual basis of their art production. Students continue to maintain process portfolios and select work for exhibition.

Description: The Visual Art Sculpture & 3D Design course promotes creative expression through three-dimensional works. This course explores representational and abstract sculpture through subtractive (carving), additive (modeling), and assemblage techniques in one or more media. The Visual Arts Sculpture & 3D Design course typically includes the production of representational and abstract sculptures, as well as contemporary 3D techniques and use of materials while incorporating elements of art and principles of design, along with a study of historical and contemporary sculpture and sculptors from a worldwide perspective.

Description: This course focuses on the fundamentals of digital art making and introduces students to authentic experiences in creating original artwork using ipads and tablets. Topics include the design and production of digital imagery, product design, graphics and photography, art history, animation, and video. Students use creative software to explore techniques, genres, and styles relating to digital illustration, graphic arts, commercial advertising, and the fine arts.

Description: This course is a continuation of Digital Art and Illustration I.  to authentic experiences in creating original artwork using technology.  Students explore the impact of technologies on visual arts processes and works, and are  challenged to adapt and develop problem-solving skills.  Students will use creative software, to explore digital illustration techniques, graphic arts, animation, commercial advertising, and the fine arts.  Art I and Digital Art I should be taken as a prerequisite to allow students to learn about art fundamentals and basic digital art programs that would be applied in this course. Ultimately, students will cultivate connections between art skills, content, and processes that lead to college opportunities and career options in the 21st Century workplace.

Description: This course continues to emphasize the development of critical thinking skills that enable students to organize, investigate, and analyze visual arts content and concepts. Students increasingly focus on historical and cultural studies, critical evaluation, and creative problem solving. Studying at this level affords students the opportunity to develop personal directions in the production of their works of art or to further their academic study in the visual arts. Students maintain their portfolios and present and exhibit works. Students explore applications of fine arts skills for the 21st Century workplace, investigate innovations in the arts, and recognize opportunities for a lifelong engagement with visual arts.

Students continue to maintain process art portfolios and select and prepare works for exhibition.

Description: This course is equivalent to a college-level drawing, sculpture or design course. There are three different AP Studio Art courses: (1) Drawing [08_9150_1]; (2) Two-dimensional Design [08_9148_1]; and (3) Three-dimensional Design and Sculpture [08_9149_1], all designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of art. Portfolios are prepared and submitted according to the specifications detailed on the College Board website.

Description: This third-year photography course allows students to deepen their understanding of exposure, composition, post-processing, and creative, out-of-the-box thinking through the exploration of broad themes and photographic genres. During the second semester, students select a primary area of focus, such as photojournalism, sports, portraiture, or fine art, and develop a series of self-directed assignments within that chosen specialty. This is a project-based course that requires students to capture photographs outside of class approximately every two weeks.

Description: Advanced Placement 2D Design Photography is a year-long, rigorous experience designed for students who are seriously interested in the practical experience of photography and wish to develop mastery in the concept, composition and execution of their ideas. In AP Studio Art: 2D Design, students will create a portfolio of artwork exploring two-dimensional design through the use of digital photography. The portfolio has a three-section structure, Breadth, Concentration, and Quality, which requires the student to show imaginative skill and a broad mastery of visual design concerns and approaches.

Description: The Marching Knights is a performing group which appears at home football games, various parades, field contests, and festivals. All members must attend band camp approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of school; rehearsal days/times are to be determined. Students who do not play marching instruments are encouraged but not required to be in Marching Knights (i.e. bassoon oboe, harp, string bass). This course may be taken for credit, in succeeding years.

Description: This course introduces the student to all aspects of theatre arts.
