AVID is an elementary through postsecondary college readiness system that is designed to increase schoolwide learning and performance. The AVID system accelerates student learning, uses research based methods of effective instruction, provides meaningful and motivational professional development, and acts as a catalyst for systemic reform and change.

Description: AVID 9 prepares students for entrance into four-year colleges. This course is the first step of a four-year college preparatory program. Students will learn AVID basics: WICOR (writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading), time management, tutorials, Socratic seminars, academic goal setting and motivation.

May include English and Math placement testing. Strongly recommended for beginning students.
